Small World in Lafayette provides Mandarin immersion, music and international awareness programs to East Bay children and their parents. Small World was founded in May, 2007 by Lynley Sides with the help of a rich advisory board, two amazing Mandarin teachers and some very supportive families.
Teachers
Small World teachers are native Mandarin and fluent English speakers experienced
in teaching Mandarin to young children. They are warm, open, energetic
and relish in the experience of sharing the Mandarin language and Chinese
culture with the children.

Location
Our morning classes are held in a guest house behind a residence that has
been converted to a pre-school style classroom complete with a small
kitchen, restroom, storage room and playground. The location is inner
Burton Valley. Our afternoon classes are held at Lafayette United Methodist Church, 955 Moraga Road, near FedEx/Kinko's. Additional afternoon classes are held at Merriewood at Burton Valley Elementary, 561 Merriewood Drive.
